Thunderbird is a lot better at dealing with multiple connections than Entourage / Outlook, but I'm fairly sure Mail.app isn't too keen. Will do some more testing with the iPhone at some point to confirm how decent it is. Nor does my laptop. I sometimes have Mail.app open on the desktop too (handy for Spotlight). This is using bog standard Sendmail on Ubuntu ... p.s. Hope you feel better soon!
