The fair usage limit before was 200MB/month, this was eventually removed from the iPhone tariffs making them effectively unlimited.

Its good to see O2 levelling the playing field across all their tariffs, and lets be honest even 200MB/month was a fair stretch on EDGE.

Lots of sites are repeating the O2 increase with cut and paste jobs, but this is the first site I've found that queried the "subject to excessive usage policy" policy! Thanks for this, and the update from O2.

Considering this'll be the limit on my usage, I think it's information they need to ensure is given clearly to their customers.

Why Ofcom can't have the following conversation with mobile companies is beyond me:

Ofcom: Is there a limit to the amount of data that can be downloaded on the limited plans? Yes or no?
Mobile companies: um, yes.

Ofcom then proceeds to prevent them from using the unlimited descriptor, or remove the limit.

That is all.
